A Peek Into The Future Of The Meadowlands

Meadowlands to stay open through March

Gural to the rescue?  Great news….keep up the momentum.  NYC has unlimited opportunities if this is done the right way.  Tioga is an excellent basic model as they market the racing and do things the right way.  Make it happen.

Impressive debut for Salutation Hanover

This was an impressive debut for Salutation Hanover this morning at The Meadowlands.  He went wire to wire in 1:57.3 with a closing quarter of 28.2.

The focus is about to turn to stakes season for many of these and it will be interesting to see what great 2 year olds return to form.  It is only April 16th, so they all still have some time before the stakes.  We’ll keep an eye on these for you though and will focus weekly on the big stakes on the calendar for the 3 year old trotters.  Should be fun to watch and handicap….

If you see any 3 year olds that merit some attention, please forward their names and we’ll check them out.

The Hambletonian Society has released their list of eligibles for The Hambletonian

Gotta be in it to win it!

Lloyd: What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me… ending up together?
Mary: Well, that’s pretty difficult to say.
Lloyd: Hit me with it! I’ve come a long way to see you, Mary. The least you can do is level with me. What are my chances?
Mary: Not good.
Lloyd: You mean, not good like one out of a hundred?
Mary: I’d say more like one out of a million.
Lloyd: So you’re telling me there’s a chance.

Best of luck to all.  1 in 154 chance today anyways to race for $1.7 million is good enough for most of us.

Masterpace Theatre – Last Time at Du Quoin

The is a tremendous piece focusing on the legendary Houghton family and their 1980 Hambletonian triumph.  If you are unfamiliar with the story, or just have never seen this, take the time to watch.
